Soughton House

Overview:

Soughton House is a stunning period manor set on 4 acres along the Cheshire/North Wales border. The new owner wanted to replace the old oil and LPG heating system with an efficient, carbon-free solution suitable for a large, multi-functional home including six bedrooms, gym, sauna, and swimming pool.

Challenge:

The property spans over 7,800 sq ft with multiple living spaces and energy-intensive facilities. The existing oil and LPG system was outdated and inefficient, requiring a high-capacity renewable heating solution that could manage both domestic comfort and high-demand areas like the pool and sauna.

Solution:

We designed and installed a high-performance heating and hot water system using two MasterTherm AquaMaster AQ60i ground source heat pumps.

System features:

• Master/slave configuration for optimized performance and redundancy.
• Each unit delivers 35 kW of output.
• Vertical ground collectors (boreholes) installed across the property’s land to provide sustainable energy.
• System capable of efficiently heating the entire manor, including all bedrooms, living areas, gym, sauna, and swimming pool.
